Marking the end of an era, 2023 is the last year of production for the current generation Dodge Challenger. Dodge is offering an extensive lineup of nine models to celebrate this moment. The Dodge Challenger is a powerful vehicle that packs a punch on the road. There are four different engine options for the 2023 model year. These may be paired with a six-speed manual transmission standard in the R/T, R/T Scat Pack, and SRT Hellcat trims or an eight-speed automatic in the other models. The available engines for the 2023 Challenger are listed below:

• 3.6L Pentastar V-6: This is standard on the SXT and GT models. It delivers 303 hp and 268 lb-ft of torque.
• 5.7L 345 HEMI V-8: This delivers a maximum of 375 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. It’s standard on the R/T.
• 6.4L 392 HEMI V-8: This engine powers the R/T Scat Pack. It delivers 485 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque.
• 6.2L HEMI V-8: This supercharged engine delivers 717 and 797 hp and 656 and 707 lb-ft of torque for the SRT Hellcat and SRT Hellcat Redeye, respectively. In the SRT Super Stock, its output is a maximum of 807 hp and 707 lb-ft of torque.

The 2023 Challenger can either be all-wheel drive (AWD) or rear-wheel drive (RWD). When it comes to fuel economy, the 3.6L V-6 with RWD and an automatic transmission received the highest EPA-estimated rating, with 19 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway, for a combined rating of 23 mpg and a total range of 426 miles.

Exterior

The 2023 Challenger still sports a retro-inspired design, featuring a low-slung, muscular body with sharply defined lines and a wide stance. It’s available in 14 exterior colors, including the popular Destroyer Grey that’s returning this year. Dodge also brought back three heritage colors — B5 Blue, Sublime Green, and Plum Crazy Purple — for the 2023 model year. Dodge didn’t stop with colors, though. • Jailbreak: This package lets you combine interior and exterior colors and other personalization options to create a unique look for the SRT Hellcat or SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody. It also improves the latter’s performance through a revised powertrain calibration, increasing its engine output to 807 hp.
• Widebody: This is available on R/T Scat Pack, SRT Hellcat Jailbreak, and SRT Hellcat Redeye Jailbreak, and it’s the only option for the SRT Super Stock. A Widebody package adds 3.5 inches of width to the Challenger for a broader and more aggressive stance and improves performance with upgrades to its suspension.
• Convertible Conversions: Dodge has partnered with Drop Top Customs to provide this aftermarket modification that converts specific Challenger coupes to convertibles. This is convenient because you can order the conversion directly and take delivery of the vehicle already with this upgrade.

All 2023 Challengers feature an aluminum “Last Call” plaque under the hood, with the phrases “Designed in Auburn Hills” and “Assembled in Brampton” as a nod to the car’s origin. The vehicle’s name and silhouette are also present. The R/T models also sport a “345” fender badge, representing the 345-cubic-inch HEMI V-8 engine that’s standard to these vehicles.

Interiors

The newest Challenger features a classic and simple interior design that takes inspiration from its 1970s counterpart. Dodge focused more on comfort, providing increased room for passengers and cargo. Front seats are broad and comfortable, and there are three seats instead of the usual two in the back row. Its trunk, with a capacity of 16.2 cubic feet, is also more spacious than many competitors.

Five interior color schemes for the 2023 Challenger include Black, Black/Caramel, Black/Ruby Red, Demonic Red, and Sepia.
